With apologies to Chief Dan George
Chief Dan George (now Deceased) wrote a love poem and in it of leaving embers in the stove so that when he left for the trail and someone else found his cabin there would be a warm stove waiting for them
Untitled III might be a celebration of the stages of one's own life, or a cautionary tale... or...
Untitled III
Smoke curling coals burning soft warmth in my hand
Breathe life to the ember and dampen the draft
Rock slowly remember the peace understand
Comes not from the learning comes not from the craft
Lay kindling on tinder light one with the spark
The other now burns free and glows with a fire
From forest and oak tree tongue reaches flames arc
The glow of the cinder the peace of the pyre
Blue diamonds in velvet white frost on the hill
Pale shimmering midnight and rose petal dawn
Look close in the firelight see life's ember still
Where kindling and tinder met ashes are drawn
